Here’s an AI image of my meeting with Isaac Asimov. I wish the event had been genuine.
But how far should creatives piggy-back on AI for sales?
The publishing world is burning with debate over the use of AI in publishing. (The same issue applies to other creative activities.)
Should authors and designers use AI to write their novels or create covers?
AI can churn out novels by the hundred with little creative effort from a human being. The flow of text is sometimes “uncomfortable”.
Authors and cover designers are protesting loudly at the damage to their livelihood.
(Not the famous authors… they’re doing OK, thanks!)
Publishers/retailers like Amazon and Draft2Digital are cracking down on the flood of “non-human” books submitted every day. Ironically, they use AI to validate the human authorship!
(When I upload a novel, AI assesses the content within about 10 seconds!).
I am on the side of humanity. I type my own novels and use genuine cover designers.
I do use AI for promotional videos, however. (More on their way soon.)
How do you feel about that?
So, let’s strike a blow for humanity and stick to biological creativity!
Send me your comments on the issue.
You might remember how I foresaw future danger from sentient AI in my novel
EXODUS: Destination Empire…

Long before the first stellar empire there was only the Homeworld.
The Earth: a pale blue dot in an as-yet unexplored galaxy.
But that was soon to change…
Arista Noam seeks to develop faster-than-light travel to open the galaxy to human colonization as AI begins to dominate humanity. She is the best hope for success.
Funding, politics, and conflicting theories stand in her way as the first test run is initiated with disastrous results. Conspiracies deepen, hidden enemies turn to violence and the fate of humanity rests in her hands.
