I just got back from a great trip to Tenerife, to get away from the dismal winter weather. Here’s an ocean-side restaurant we enjoyed.
The sunnier south is very commercialized amid a quite arid landscape.
The north is very different. It’s not tourist-centered. It’s lush, with banana plantations and other farms, though less sunny. (I’m told it’s due to the humidity added as the air rises over the volcanic mountains.) The scenery and crashing waves were invigorating. The volcano Teide is not to be missed!
On my return home, my garden greeted me with a carpet of crocuses (or a chorus of croci) easing its way skyward in the bright sunshine. (Carpet or chorus? You choose.) Hello Spring!
And a honking gaggle of geese flew in formation over the house today. (Yes, I know they’re a gaggle on the ground and a skein in the sky, but gaggle of geese sounds better.)
You know, English can be a minx of a mistress, especially when you’re trying to impress others with your sparkling word-skills.
Speaking of which, I’m finalizing my next novel REVOLT (sequel to EXODUS) for beta reading. I’m also tinkering with YouTube.
Which reminds me… I should get back to mastering the minx.
